TEXX's translators work with modern, practical translation (CAT) software such as Trados, Wordfast and Déjà Vu. These should not be confused with online translation tools, which translate the individual words rather than the meaning. In fact CAT tools provide quality and consistency in translations, and are particularly invaluable in the case of technical documents. Manuals are a case in point. A CAT tool creates a database (translation memory) of client-specific terminology that can be re-used in every subsequent translation. The software also makes it possible to use several different translators while guaranteeing the consistency of the translations. So it's no longer necessary to deploy one permanent translator. And this can make a big difference to the delivery time of the translation. What's more, the use of translation tools increases efficiency.
